Preparing to Give Evidence at Select Committees Training
Public expectation on transparency is growing, meaning that public officials are under increased pressure to appear before Select Committees to provide evidence and justify their decisions.
Appearing in front of a Select Committee can be a nerve-wracking experience, especially as the performance of the participant can impact the enhancement of both the organisation and their own career. Participants need to ensure they are prepared to respond to likely questions that they will be asked, as well as be able to thoroughly account for their, or their departments, actions.
Part of our Policy Skills series, 'Preparing to Give Evidence at Select Committees Training' is a one-day course that is specifically designed to ensure participant are prepared and able to communicate their message effectively in the event of a hearing.
At the Civil Service College, we tailor our courses to each participant’s role and organisation, ensuring that each participant gets the most out of the training. Our courses and trainers are continuously updated and evaluated to ensure that we are always delivering the best service possible.
