NewRisk, Remediation, Exit and Recommissioning

This course gives non-commercial leaders and practitioners the confidence to recognise commercial strain earlier, respond constructively under pressure and support better decisions about remediation, renewal, exit, transition and recommissioning. Strong organisations do not just start contracts well. They respond well when things go wrong. Commercial relationships rarely fail suddenly. More often, performance drifts, risks increase, relationships become strained and warning signs are missed, softened or tolerated for too long.
Participants will explore how underperformance, relationship strain, unclear accountability, delayed escalation and weak transition planning can increase cost, risk and disruption. The course also addresses why escalation is not failure when it is timely, proportionate and well evidenced.
The course helps participants understand how to intervene effectively when risk appears, how to support remediation with control and how to prepare for exit, transition, renewal or recommissioning without unnecessary disruption or value loss.
Participants will use Sequora’s DRIVE methodology to move from risk awareness to controlled action. EQ awareness is used to support difficult conversations, steadiness, resilience and constructive challenge. Responsible AI-assisted practice is introduced as a way to support scenario thinking, issue summaries, escalation notes, transition planning and lessons learned.
A recurring theme throughout the day is the value question: where is this adding value?
Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how commercial relationships strain, drift or fail, and why warning signs are often visible before formal failure occurs. They will be better able to recognise early indicators of risk, including performance drift, relationship tension, missed milestones, weak evidence, unclear accountability and growing dissatisfaction.
They will develop greater confidence in responding constructively under pressure, including gathering evidence, escalating proportionately, clarifying ownership, supporting remediation and maintaining professional relationships while protecting accountability. Through DRIVE, EQ awareness, responsible AI-assisted practice and the value lens, they will identify practical actions to spot strain earlier, respond more deliberately and support better transition, exit, renewal or recommissioning decisions.
