NewOrganisational Review Toolkit
This toolkit course combines the following courses
The everchanging environment requires public and private sector organisations to be agile in meeting the demands of customers and stakeholders, remain competitive and be able to delivery services and goods effectively and efficiently. Change is triggered by a variety of factors, a political change of power and philosophy, legislative reforms and treaties, financial crisis and cash shortages, gaps in performance, new technologies, social demands, climate and environmental change. Amidst a period of dramatic changes in environment, cuts to budgets, staff and resources the ability to respond quickly to change requires an understanding of the current state of the organisation and what led it to the position in which it finds itself. Once this is established the next steps are to determine how to respond and the direction to take in developing options for a new business model and managing the changes required in meeting strategic goals and stakeholder expectations.
An outcome-oriented approach is essential, not just focusing on day-to-day activities but on the broader performance impact aligned with the core mission and impact on customers and shareholders. Whilst leaders, managers, and frontline staff play a critical role in fulfilling their organisation's mandates and achieving results having the correct structure, functions and effective and efficient interactions with other businesses and departments are also critical. Performance evaluation in this context often hinges on the output of people's work but should also focus on the impact it has on desired outcomes.
The organisation's ability to thrive amidst adversity is dependent on adaptability and resilience with leaders supporting and ensuring that their workforce is aligned with both immediate priorities and long-term objectives and have the skills and abilities to perform effectively to meet the demands of our increasingly complex world.
This two-week course will enable organisational review specialists and leaders with the tools and techniques to analyse the structure and operations of their organisation, develop new ways of working and plan and lead staff through the necessary changes.
In week one of this course, delegates will learn best practices in managing organisational reviews and provides a toolkit for analysis and redesign to look in depth into an organisation, identify the challenges it faces and provide for options for change to develop structures and strategies for the future.
In week two, delegates will explore the barriers to change, plan the changes required, how to avoid failure and identify ways of motivating their teams in developing a committed workforce, increase productivity and continuous lean and agile thinking to ensure key services are delivered and remain responsive to change.
