Managing Freedom of Information (FOIs)

“I found it very helpful and the trainer was very good. He clearly knows the subject very well and he was really good at giving us a lot of information in an interesting way and dealing with all our questions.”

The Pensions Regulator

The Government is committed to transparency and with an ever-increasing public expectation to have access to information, public bodies need to ensure that they have effective and efficient methods in place to make sure that all types of data are properly recorded and managed.

This course will help delegates to understand their statutory duty under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 1998 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004. It is designed to enhance their confidence when dealing with FOI requests and when justifying their decisions.

Managing Freedom of Information (FOIs) is an induction course within our Information, Digital and Data Management series, and contains essential insights for those working with FOIs.

At Civil Service College, we pride ourselves on our ability to tailor our courses to each delegate, ensuring that courses are applicable to attendee’s role and organisations so that each delegate can get the most from the training. Our courses and trainers are constantly updated and evaluated to ensure that we are always delivering the best service possible.
