NewCounter Terrorism - An Executive Briefing
This specialist course 'Counter Terrorism - An Executive Briefing' has been specifically designed to meet the needs of those within Executive Leadership positions.
The strategic risks facing organisations are generally well known and embedded within existing policy, plans and procedures. Examples such as an event of a fire, failure of IT and similar events are often well catered for and have tried and tested Business Continuity plans in reserve.
With terrorism, the tactics and capability of terrorists are continually changing, as is their ability to execute significant acts which demand that organisations have appropriate plans and training in place to cater for such events and mitigate risk.
How organisations tend to raise awareness and brief staff is through the good work of National Counter Terrorism Security Office ( NACTSO ) who hold UK wide opportunities for staff to attend. As a result, staff knowledge is increased and expectations are that their organisation and workplace has adopted the latest thinking in terms of how to react.
However, key individuals who hold board level positions are often aware of the briefings but may not be able to attend and in any event, rarely have briefings specific to their requirements as Leaders.
This is a high-level course which caters for their needs and enables small group discussion in an Executive environment where this important subject can be discussed and best practice shared.
The course is delivered by very experienced individuals from the senior intelligence agency, military and police backgrounds
This is a high-level Counter Terrorism Awareness course designed for those within organisations who are responsible for risk and setting strategy. It will be of particular interest to Board members, Heads of Risk, Directors, Non-Executive Directors and equivalents within the Civil Service.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the Global Threat from Terrorism and our preparedness within the UK. This will include a description of the various threat levels and how organisations should respond. They will also be given an explanation of the support available from Central Government and advice on increasing security awareness amongst employees. Overall, it will provide participants with a far clearer understanding of the overall threat of Terrorism and what should be done within their organisation to counter that threat.
